Keeping My Promise

Today I went back to the site I hit over the weekend - to take care of the lawn, as I had promised the homeowner.

I edged out the sidewalk rows, and had it done and looking good in about 45 minutes.

With a little bit of free time left, I decided to break out the MXT.

I guess I must have done an okay job the other day, because there were barely any signals.

One of the reasons I love the D2 coil (White's) is because of experiences like today:  I found a wheat penny at 6" with a nail and a piece of copper wire all in the same hole.

I got just enough of a good reading to hear that penny in the trash.

It just so happens that the wheat penny turned out to be the third 1955 wheat penny from this site.

I haven't done a final inspection to see if any are double die, but I doubt it.

A few minutes later, I got another jumpy signal on the side of a little hill and I pulled out a 1917 buffalo nickel.

I continued to detect for another 15 minutes or so, but I didn't get another diggable signal, so I packed up and left.

Wheat and Buffalo - Today's Finds

I almost wish I could be there to see the homeowner's face when she gets home from work and sees the yardwork is done!
